But fish farming does not forgive approximation: a poorly designed pond, poorly monitored water, or unsuitable feed is enough to lose an entire harvest.

That is why we do not stop at training: we support the entire chain, from fingerlings to sales.

Our approach

Learn. The training sessions take place on-site, by the ponds: levee management, stocking, feeding, water quality and density, and then grading at harvest.

Act. Cooperatives receive fingerlings of selected fast-growing strains, delivered to the pond, and locally produced feed adapted to each growth phase. A pilot site allows testing the complete model: production, training, and supply of inputs within the same perimeter.

Succeed. A technician visits every week to check the water and density. The harvest is graded and weighed in front of the cooperative, then transported to the market via a cold chain. Bulk purchasing of feed allows cooperatives to negotiate better prices.

Our milestones

2021 : development of the first community ponds and first technical training.

2023 : local manufacturing of feed and first marketing circuits.

2025 : expansion to the territory of Lubero, where 25 young women were trained in fish farming.

Who this program is for

To women's cooperatives and fish farmers in Beni and Lubero, particularly young women who wish to make fish farming a sustainable activity.

What changes

Safer harvests, thanks to selected fingerlings and weekly monitoring.

Feed available on-site, at a collectively negotiated price.

Production sold before it even leaves the pond, with no losses due to lack of cold storage.

Cooperatives that master their value chain.

We had been trained before, but no one ever came back. Here, someone stops by every week to check the water and density.
