Agri-food processing

We build the skills required to turn raw materials into marketable products.
Why this area of work
Sold raw, a harvest disappears quickly at a low price and is lost if it does not find a buyer. Once processed, preserved, and packaged, it gains value, lasts longer, and opens up new market opportunities. Processing is often the step that turns a production into a true business.
Our approach
Learn. Training sessions focus on local product processing, hygiene, preservation techniques, conditioning, and packaging. They are held in workshops, using the products that the beneficiaries will then sell.
Act. In Beni, participants have launched very concrete activities: making passion fruit juice, producing flour for children's porridge, popcorn, and chips. When necessary, appropriate equipment is provided: freezers to store juices, manual machines to grind peanuts.
Succeed. Calculating cost prices, product presentation, and searching for sales outlets go hand in hand with production, ensuring that every product finds its market at a price that compensates for the work.
Who this program is for
For women and young people who are already producing, or who want to add value to the harvests of their group, and for those who wish to launch a small home-based processing activity.
What changes
- Fewer post-harvest losses, thanks to preservation.
- Products that sell for more than the raw material.
- New economic activities launched with little capital.
- Local products present in the markets of Beni and Lubero.
Inua Développement helped me get a freezer and have a place where I can store my passion fruit juices. Soon, I plan to move to the next level.
