Female leadership and young leaders

Location
Butembo, Lubero territory, North Kivu

Training women and youth in community leadership, public speaking, and social entrepreneurship.

The context

Women and young people are numerous in driving the economic and social life of their neighborhood, yet few take the floor in meetings and bodies where the future of the community is decided. This project aims to give them the tools and confidence to take their rightful place.

What the project does

Train. The sessions focus on community leadership, public speaking, group organization, and social entrepreneurship. They are held on-site, in small groups, based on real-life situations.

Practice. Each participant implements what has been learned: facilitating a meeting, leading a neighborhood initiative, or launching or coordinating a collective activity.

Support. After the training, the team returns to the field to monitor initiatives and support those taking on responsibilities.

What we aim for

  • Women who speak up and participate in their community decisions.
  • Young people who drive social and economic initiatives.
  • Better organized and better represented groups.
  • A new generation of community leaders.

Learn. Act. Succeed.
