Support for communities affected by crises

Location
Oicha, Beni territory, North Kivu

Support actions for families and communities living in areas affected by conflict and displacement.

The context

The territories of Beni and Lubero host numerous families displaced by conflict. They often arrive with no resources, in neighborhoods already under pressure. Immediate needs are intertwined with a longer-term question: how to rebuild sustainable and dignified livelihoods?

Our approach

We combine community assistance, capacity building, economic guidance, and the promotion of fundamental rights. The goal is not only to respond to emergencies but to help every family regain an activity and a place within their community.

What the project does

  • Community support for displaced families and the households hosting them.
  • Psychosocial and community support, linked to our area Human rights and community protection.
  • Income-generating activities for women and youth, with our area Economic empowerment of women.
  • Social cohesion initiatives between host communities and displaced populations.

What we aim for

Communities capable of facing crises: families regaining income, women and youth participating in decision-making, and neighborhoods where displaced persons and hosts live together.
